Early roster thoughts: Greece has a mix of experience and youth. Midfielders Giorgos Karagounis and Kostas Katsournais were both on the 2004 championship team. Young defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos, 20, plays for Schalke in Germany. Theofanis Gekas and Giorgos Samaras (Celtic) are Greece’s most dangerous strikers.
How they will do: In a very evenly matched group A, Greece could first or last. They will play tough defense, but must score a few goals if they want to make the quarterfinals.
